Three ways to vote

A note on mail ballots: they cannot be handed in at an early voting site or at your Election Day polling place. A voted mail ballot goes in an official county drop box, or to the Board of Elections.

Can I vote?

To vote in New Jersey you must be a United States citizen, at least 18 years old by Election Day, and a resident of your county for 30 days before the election. You cannot vote while you are serving a sentence of incarceration for an indictable offense. That’s the entire list — here are the cases people ask us about most.
